This research aimed to study the impact of information systems on improving administrative performance in Higher Technical Institutes in Sabratha, with a focus on identifying the benefits achieved by these systems in developing administrative performance, and exploring the challenges facing the institutes in implementing them. The research relied on the descriptive and analytical approach, and data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to 80 employees. The results concluded that it relies on a variety of information systems, such as accounting and administrative systems, academic data management systems, human resources systems, geographic information systems, and facilities management systems. Accounting and financial management systems were the most used at 47.5%, while geographic information systems were the least used at 3.75%, 56.2% of the participants also indicated that information systems greatly helped in accelerating administrative decision-making by providing accurate and rapid data, while 53.8% confirmed that information systems helped in improving efficiency, reducing errors, and increasing data accuracy. The most prominent challenges faced by institutes in implementing information systems were lack of training (35%), difficulty in dealing with some systems due to their complexity (10%), problems in the technical infrastructure (30%), and lack of technical support (15%). Based on these results, the study recommended the need to enhance the use of accounting and financial management systems, improve integration between different systems in institutes, and organize training workshops to familiarize employees with the importance of geographic information systems. It also recommended simplifying user interfaces to facilitate their use, developing the technical infrastructure and improving the speed of the Internet and devices, and increasing technical support to ensure providing effective assistance to employees. The study also recommended conducting regular reviews of existing systems to ensure their alignment with institutional needs, establishing an electronic training platform to enhance employee proficiency in various systems, and leveraging modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance geographic information systems.
