This study aimed to examine the jurisprudential fatwas of Imam ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh Āl Bāz concerning the rulings of zakāt, taking the chapter on Zakāt al-Fiṭr (the alms of breaking the fast) as a case study. It does so through a comparative jurisprudential analysis drawn from Majmūʿ Fatāwā al-Imām Ibn Bāz (The Collected Fatwas of Imam Ibn Bāz), a work regarded as a rich scholarly wellspring from which researchers throughout the Islamic world draw. The significance of the study lies in its exposition of Imam Ibn Bāz's jurisprudential views as contained in the aforementioned work, in highlighting his standing — may Allah have mercy upon him — in Islamic jurisprudence and his rank among scholars, and in presenting his fatwas in a manner that is readily accessible, readable, and comprehensible, while underscoring the status of Zakāt al-Fiṭr and clarifying its ruling through the positions of the jurists. The study adopted the inductive-analytical method and the descriptive method. It reached several findings, foremost among them that the fatwas of Imam Ibn Bāz were and remain a scholarly beacon and a wellspring from which scholars and students of knowledge draw, and that his fatwas — particularly on contemporary issues — play a significant role in upholding the principles of Sharīʿah, facilitating matters for people, and addressing their needs. The study further recommended advocating a return to the foundational jurisprudential works left to us by the jurists, attending to the subject of zakāt in its contemporary form and applications, and convening awareness seminars for Muslims in general and for those who possess wealth in particular concerning the Book of Zakāt, specifically the chapter on Zakāt al-Fiṭr.................
