Due to the increasing demand in the use of electric energy in Libya, it has become necessary to search for alternatives to the use of oil, gas in the production of electric energy, and from this point of view, the use of renewable energies such as solar energy to illuminate roads has become more effective and more feasible, especially in desert roads, also when HID lamps are used with light-emitting diode (LED) lamps. This paper gives the basic ideas to control the intensity of lighting by a programmable control unit (microcontroller), to save a large proportion of electrical energy, and the possibility of controlling the intensity of lighting (fully off and on) by sensing the movement of vehicles. This work will carry out complete circuit design for a street light control.
